I may have been shooting a bit beyond my capabilities when I came up with the concept for my Project Brief 2. Its a common problem with me, in my head I see these fully realised ideas that seem perfect… until it comes time to actually do them. Sometimes I don’t have the skills to achieve what I’ve envisioned, and other times I get lazy, give up and say ‘eh, close enough’.
But not today! No, today I have spent hours in the backyard doing countless takes, many of which I won’t end up using, and practicing my editing skills. I began by enlisting the help of my Dad as cameraman before switching to a tripod as more reliable. Sorry Dad, its a tough industry.
The encouragement from Brian Morris when he heard my pitch in our week 4 workshops is motivating, but I’m starting to get the feeling what I end up with won’t be near as good as I made it sound. But it won’t be for lack of trying!
