Development: Planning Task Four (Big, Bigger + Small Things)
For the week nine class, we developed a concept to help us plan our Task Four Major Project. These ideas are based on the foundations of ‘bigger things, big things and small things’ to help us hone in our task at hand (and to prevent us from feeling too overwhelmed with everything as well).
The ‘Bigger’ things focused on the overall desire of what I want to achieve with my project. For me, this is how I show the ways different individuals notice many aspects in art and media and what draws it to them specifically. For me, I am hoping to achieve this through the wide-angled photography and develop a panorama shot. Thus, this hones in on the ‘big things‘ – which is the presentation of my task. I want this to be a multimedia + visual piece with the photography and input of the viewers engrained into the piece. I am thinking about developing a mosaic-like structure or video piece that shows off these ideas, or a 360-degree video to show this further for the ‘bigger things‘ in my piece. Finally, the ‘smaller‘ things are a checklist of things that I need to do – for example, finding the location, showing the test subjects the photography/video, compiling the video and mosaic and signing release forms, if applicable.
We also developed a timeline for when we wanted to have certain things completed – for example, this is my predicted timeline for next week (which will be week eleven: gathering the responses from around 10 – 15 individuals and to begin assembling the mosaic on premiere pro). We also wrote down a ‘things that mattered to my project’ – a wider, expansive list of things that we thought represented our project as a whole and something to channel in on and to think about when we are creating media.
