Clickbait and Celebrity Culture

I find the whole ‘fake news’, clickbait culture to be particularly prominent with the ideologies surrounding celebrity culture. Celebrities (for example, Beyonce, Justin Bieber etc.) are already thrown into the spotlight, nevertheless – celebrities often fall victim to click bait and fake news, specifically because they are easy targets. For example – take the Daily Mail (known for their clickbait titles and ‘accusations’ about particular celebrities). Johnny Depp has been under fire (both in the news, but particularly in the daily mail) recently due to his ‘spending problem’. I think the key words when I read this article are ‘accused’ and ‘claims’ – those keywords clearly show the lack of facts.
