Homeland, Season 3 Episode 2 – Uh… Oh… Ah…
Another solid week of Homeland in my opinion. I’ve been hearing a lot from other people that they aren’t enjoying this season so far, but I have to disagree. I really appreciate that the writers are taking the time to set up intriguing and suspenseful story lines as opposed to the exaggerated drama of last season. I also think that it is a very wise decision to still not have introduced Brody yet.
Hostages, Season 1 Episode 3 – Power of Persuassion
Every week of this new show, starring our homegrown actress Toni Collette, a well constructed and paced episode is delivered and this week is no exception. However I’m still waiting for the show to completely enrapture me before I truly invest in the program, as it has not quite reached that point yet, however it is most certainly a very competently made show.
The Originals, Season 1 Episode 2 – House of the Rising Son
So far this show has definitely not suffered any disease of boringness which is usually associated with spin-off shows. Hopefully if Rebecca (who is by far the best character on the show) remains in or close to the spotlight and this doesn’t merely become ‘The Klaus Show’, this will make for one very fun and exciting drama.
New Girl, Season 3 Episode 4 – The Captain
Thankfully after the first few lackluster episodes of this season, New Girl has returned to it’s usual ridiculous hilarity. I have to point out that I especially loved the montage where Jess is trying to arouse Nick all set to Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ of course.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Season 1 Episode 3 – The Asset
This is definately my favorite show of the new season thus far. Every week continues to match it’s bug budgeted film counterparts (being Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and The Avengers) both in it’s skilfully directed action sequences and incredibly witty dialogue. Lets hope that the amount of effort obviously put into each episode does not dwindle as the show progresses.
Arrow, Season 2 Episode 1 – City of Heroes
I know what you are saying this may not be the best show on television (nor does it even come close) but I just can’t stop watching it is so ridiculously entertaining that I’m willing to overlook it’s very apparent flaws like the performances of the actors for one. Justification aside, this was a very strong return for Arrow, dealing with the aftermath of last season’s earthshaking finale and setting up some very unexpected avenues for season 2.
American Horror Story: Coven, Episode 1 – Bitchcraft
WOWOWOWOWOWOW is all I can say about the opening episode of this new season of my favourite show on television. This was by far the best opening of any other season which will hopefully correlate to being the best season. Keep up the good work Ryan Murphy and co.
Glee, Season 5 Episode 3 – The Quarterback
I have just finished watching this episode moments ago and wow I am an emotional wreck. There isn’t much to say about the farewell episode to both Cory Monteith and his character Finn, except to say that the cast and crew delivered and incredibly poignat and heartfelt goodbye to a beloved memeber of the Glee family.
