The symposium has come to a close for this week and before I touch upon other aspects of the discussion, I wanted to quickly get down the points made about Tim Berners-Lee

 

For anyone not there, the tutors basically responded to the fact that the reason why Lee didn’t Patent the web was because he wanted the internet to remain a completely open forum. I wanted to highlight this point especially because it is in this fact of the internet, that it can’t be patented, which is what I find so amazing and awe inspiring as it is because of this that the web has become what we have made it into.
