Bottle Rocket: Ashton’s Amazing Title Sequence

Despite the fact that this blog post heading sounds like a Dr. Seuss book, it’s actually a dedication to the fantastic work of Ashton Peck, who created both the visual sequence and the music for this funky title sequence.

What I love about this sequence is just how perfectly it captures everything we were intending to cover in our initial concept sessions. We always maintained that we wanted something particularly evocative of Melbourne and its culture, and the titles absolutely nail this. From the city streets and its buskers and artists, to the leafy Carlton suburbs and our public transport system. It also lands that light, comedic tone that we’ve been shooting for, with the splashes of colour that pop up infrequently and the (hopefully) amusing clips, specifically of Martin boogieing in his house.

Just a little loved up post for Ash, who managed to create this while still collaborating heavily with us while we shot over those two production days. Good stuff!
