The improvement of mood on the train is palpable. A middle aged woman sparks a conversation with a young nurse she had never met, asking her questions about her job and telling her stories of her friend who is also a nurse, all with a smile on her face. Next to them an incredibly Melbourne businessman, equipped with the blue suit jacket, tan shoes, and impossibly white shirt remarks on the book being read by a man in his early 30s in front of him, a book on a famous cricketer. There was barely a yawn to be seen on the carriage, or any students trying to catch up on sleep before class. The sun shines down into the crowded carriage, giving the mass of early morning commuters a warm glow that is universally welcomed. May daylight savings time never end.
