Words We Both Know

I’ve spent time over the last few days and in today’s class evaluating the words I want to use in this upcoming assignment. I’ve been struggling to omit the context of it being my house, and have been trying to find ways of combatting this. I had the idea of “quietude” originally but I’ve come to a conclusion that it’s too difficult to differentiate from the “stillness” idea.

I was playing with the idea of “handcraft” and the way in which it can be used as a metaphor for historical aspects of things. However I’m finding it difficult to create media for that, particularly sonically as I feel there’s no real way to demonstrate it.

At the moment I’m definitely set on:

  • Stillness
  • Texure
  • Remains

These are all ideas which I’ve gleaned from the aftermath of assignment 1, and ideas that I touched on briefly in some of the previous blogs. I’m hoping to really hone in on that last word tomorrow or the day after.
