We worked in groups today in order to give/get feedback on our profiles on others. I was mostly given good feedback by the others in my group, with many stating that I constructed it well and it gave them a good sense of who my brother is. However I was also told that there was not enough variety in the shots I captured, which I kind of agree with. I must admit that I didn’t really think enough about how else I planned to shoot B-roll of my brother in the context of what was being talked about. Perhaps I didn’t need to do so in the context at all.
I found this feedback helpful because I was really able to think about what had been done, and what could’ve been done better.
Here are a few of the notes I did on the projects of the others in my group:
Haylee – enjoyed it, but found the degraded quality of her selected B-roll very distracting.
Sandy/Alexander – interesting and different, needed a little bit more proficiency in cleaning up the audio sound
Tim – engaging, but I felt that the still photos really ruined the momentum he was building. Really solid however.
Jac – really interesting. I enjoyed this one.
I think all in all this was a very positive experience, and hopefully I can put what I have learned into practice while also taking elements of what worked for others away as well.
