Stan Brakhage
Stan Brakhage is a really important figure of the twenty-century non-narrative experimental filmmaker. He specialises in demonstrating many different forms, methods and film shooting techniques with film rolls such as double or multiple exposures, scratch and colouring the film rolls.
“I am the most thorough documentary filmmaker in the world because I document the act of seeing as well as everything that the light brings me.” says in his interview. Stan considers that the form of documentary is more like about how to document the natural fundamental conditions such as the changes of sunlight. Somehow, the Thai DOP, Phuttiphong Aroonpheng, his ideology may be also inspired by Stan. Using the visual as a storyteller.
