Phuttiphong Aroonpheng
Born in Thailand, recently won the
“Aroonpheng has a concept of visual, then extends the screenplay.”
In his interview, he mentioned that as a DOP, my job is to capture as beautiful as possible instead of relying on a script. Hence, It is not hard to know Aroonpheng is a “visual” person, thinking all of the things by starting with an imagination. Actually, he said, I am not good at doing script thing, the movie《Manta Ray》was developed from a lot of images and footage, and the final script has only 30 pages. in terms of the realisation of his ideas, normally he organises the image in his mind with non-narrative structure.
