You and the Creative Process – The Journey of the Self
- Discovering a source of your stories means looking for causes and effects in your own life and grasping the nature of what you feel most deeply. This exploration is not quick or tidy and nor does it end
- “Moment of vision”
- Wanting to tell stories – due to needing to explore the tensions we carry. Any new truth affords relief because we see a little better where we are, and why. Truth liberates us and connects us to others
- Self exposure and giving support – to act on self-discovery means taking chances
- Documentary is a branch of drama – one that happens to draw on a ready-made world rather than an invented one.
- Filmmaking is a collaborative activity, so you must sometimes withstand extreme social pressures. Either you defend your viewpoint tenaciously or see your prerogatives plucked away by strong-willed colleagues, actors, and crew members.
