Ali made a lot of good points on preservation. He also elaborated on ‘preserve’ is a word as ‘post-moterm’ which is to reflect upon what you’ve created and it isn’t dead.
“‘Preserve’ is as problematic a word as ‘post-mortem’ to reflect upon what you’ve created. The thing you’ve created isn’t dead! It’s been released into the world to be consumed by others and interrogated. It is arguably more alive than when it was being operated on, anti-septically, by the person who created it, isolated from the whole. Even that is a dangerous word to use. Nothing is isolated in society.”
The thought I had was drafts. It’s like keeping in a refrigerator like Ali mentioned. Doesn’t mean you haven’t seen it, it’s not there. Like blog posts we do every week. We keep them in draft forms before we publish them.
