The reading on interactive documentary at page 8 states media are gradually becoming more active in interpreting contents.. And I have to agree with Ali on his statement about the media is being really playful. Emphasising on their playfulness can be a thing in modern times as well.
“Transmedia storytelling and changing habits of audience engagement is linked to the wider issue of convergence and changing media literacies. As digital technologies are evolving, we are witnessing the development of a widespread assumption that consumers of media content are gradually becoming more active participants in the creation and interpretation of content. However it is our view that this assumption is not a foregone conclusion and that, authorial communication is not necessarily being replaced by a logic of shared participation.”
As being said by Aston and Gaudenzi, the evolution of digital technologies does affect the creation and interpretation of content. Sam stated that geotagging has been around for quite some time now and hence we can see there are countless taggings everywhere on social medias such as Facebook and Instagram. In addition to that, Facebook has also being really playful with phrases and words. Like ‘writing on walls’, ‘poking’ and ‘stalking’. Phrases and words like these are being interpreted in a way that it sounds normal. Creativity at it’s finest… Writing on walls back in those days were literal, and it is a public offence, but today’s society it can be interpreted in a different meaning and also phrases like ‘online stalking’ can be socially acceptable.
