Looks like I’m late a couple of times in blogging about some stuffs…. oh typical me.
Anyways, as promised, I have to blog about it because I said I did a blog post about last week’s readings but apparently I did the wrong topic instead.
On the hypertext reading, this reminds me back one year ago. I was an I.T. student before I moved into Media and Communications. Information Technology wasn’t my thing, however. I have difficulties in understanding codes and stuff like that. Moving on, the week before, there was a reading on hypertext as well, but I did have a slight confusion though. It’s a bit clearer now though. It’s actually pretty interesting once you get it. Like said; hypertext can include sequential text and is thus the most general form of writing. New forms of writing can better the structure of what we write about. Readers on the other hand, are able to chose a pathway in which interest them. For instance, Wikipedia or Google. Type in what you want to know, and informations floods before you. Landaw states that translation into hypertexual form exist of poetry, fiction, and other materials originally conceive for book technology. I’m thinking, maybe like a song too? Basically, transforming it in a different way of writing from a different way of reading. Anyways, Hypertext seems to be like… whatever we are doing right now, LINKING things from one another, it actually creates the all these ‘webs’. We are responsible for all these.
