First ‘Unlecture’ Experience

Uhmm.. I forgot to take a picture during the ‘unlecture’ else it would be or looks interesting for this blog post. Oh well…

This is actually my first time experiencing a different format of education which is actually quite interesting. This week’s unlecture was basically on answering our questions such as what is this week’s reading about and the course as well. Adrian did talked about informing him if we find this ‘unlecture’ isn’t going to work as he is doing his research on giving students the best kind of education style for this subject, Networked Media. During the ‘unlecture’ it was also being said that we students paid a sum load of money to the school and it is our own responsibility to turn up for the ‘unlectures’ and tutorials.

Other than that, it was also being mentioned that film, television, radio industries hire you based on that piece of paper you get after your tertiary education and also based on your reputation. That degree you have there will judge you in the sense that you know what to do which you are educated to, and reputation on the another hand is based on what you say and it is very important to know that if your reputation is bad, you’re less likely to get employed regardless of what career you’re going to pursue. Let’s say, just for example, you are known for your bad mouthing and use of aggressive language and poor temper. Employers will eventually know that and you’re probably out of their list. Well, if you’re of those type of person with skills and respectable by people, well you’re on the bright side. Well, this is in fact true and I do agree. If I were to be an employer myself, I would choose the person that has respectable qualities though the person next to him may have more knowledge on the subject but is rude.
