For our second tutorial we shared our self-portrait assessment with our group members.

At the beginning I was feeling a bit nervous about presenting my work to my group members. Although I was proud of my own work, there’s still a part of me fearing people might not like my work. Luckily most of the feedbacks are positive. The “hat” feedback system we were doing asked all of us the give positive and negative feedbacks, also initiative feeling and alternatives. It was really useful, it led me know how people think of my work and how could my work be better in their opinions. Which can help me improve my works next time. The most difficult part of this was giving negative feedbacks. It’s always hard to be the “bad guy” and some works did the expression really well, which makes it even harder to find the flaw of it. It takes practices to get better at the system. When I’m the one giving others feedbacks, looking from different perspectives and details will help me evaluate the work in a better way. On the other hand, when I’m on the receiving end, I should write down the feedbacks my group members gave me and think about the evaluation later. That is the most efficient way the separate the moments of receiving feedbacks and evaluating it.

After the first try of the “hat” system, all the useful feedbacks I received helped me reflecting both my current works and my future works. I learned the way to make my work into a better into a better piece, which will help me develop a way of improving my works in the future.
