Isengardt is a Germen photographer that I really like. We have very similar styles and a lot of his abstract photos used lights very well to achieve a great visual effect.

I have chose a few photos of his and use them as inspirations to produce some new photos. I experimented different use of lights and created some new ways of shooting.

The photos on the left are Isengardt’s, the ones on the right is mine.

Most of these photos requires long exposure.

The first one is the one I practiced the most. I used a translucent textured fabric to wrap around my phone’s flashlight, then I moved my camera and keep zooming in and out the lens during exposure to achieve that particular look. The second one I just quickly spun my camera during the exposure. The third one is a picture of a basin. I used my phone’s flash light to create a reflection in the water, then I kept moving my phone and use another hand to move the water, after 30s of exposure, the photo looks fantastic.

I love experimenting with light and create new abstract photos. Isengardt’s photos are very good inspirations.
