At the end of task 2 I wrote down 2 questions that I would like to explore further. One of them was to notice things more naturally. To achieve this I came up with an experimental exercise for myself to create a habit of noticing things in my daily life, without setting myself a task or write down a list. Because for task 2 although I managed to notice a lot of detailed things in the location, I need to tell myself what I need to notice or write down a list of things I needed to notice. I think it is very important for a photographer to always notice new things so more content can be created. So I came up with this experiment to help myself notice things more naturally.
Here is a recipe I made for my exercise:
Recipe:
Ingredients: 1. A smartphone
2. A camera if I have one with me
Method: 1. Set up an alarm at 4 o’clock each day
- When the alarm rings notice something around me, something I tend to ignore normally, something detailed.
- Take a photo of it.
Tips:
The subject has to be detailed, something not too easy to notice.
The point of this experiment is for me to notice details and make it a habit.
As a photographer it is really important to always have something new to capture, which makes noticing even more important.
This will be my task from week5 to week6.
