SOUND TEXTURE. New vocabulary learned.

Before I start this media course, I think of this “sound texture” thing as an assumption. When I hear someone’s voice, I automatically assume it is from someone. Now I know there is this phrase called sound texture.

In this week’s workshop our tutor played a 20mins long audio, and we got a chance to figure out how sound texture really works. By listening to different people talking we can use our ears to figure out where that voice is coming from. I am a person who highly relies on visual images, I use my eyes to receive information most of the time. So it was difficult for me to stop using my eyes and listen to such a long audio. I was struggling in the beginning and I had no idea what it was talking about but I slowly got used to it. At the end of the audio I was able to recognize these voices without hearing their names.

It was a good practice and useful for our project brief 4. I believe this will really help my street interview part of the audio.
