I named my video as “Me, Myself and I” because it straightforwardly tells my audience this video is about my life. I split the video into 4 parts. The first 3 parts are basically showing my 3 biggest hobbies, and the last one concludes the information of the first three parts and expresses the information in a clearer way so all my audience can fully understand the meaning of my video. I arranged it this way because I think the best way to show my personality is to show my hobbies and what I do in my life. In the first part, I showed the process of myself taking a photo, from switching on the camera to pressing the shutter. After that are some photograph I took, with audios of camera’s shutter. The second part shows me using garage band to make a beat. The third part shows my interest in playing basketball. The first version of my rough cut was simple and lacking sense of wholeness. I had to make some changes with the first three parts of the video, mainly using detailed footages instead of simple general ones. However the video still looks a bit awkward without any background music, so I made a sound track on garage band and inserted it into the video. During the editing, the first thing I wanted to achieve was to show my passion to those three hobbies by using detailed footages. Showing details can let audience know more about the object, because it contains more information to communicate in a better way. The second thing I was trying to achieve was to fulfill the lack of wholeness, improve the structure of the video. I’m glad I achieved both targets.
In my opinion, the most successful part of my video is the quality of footage. They all have impressive visual effect and clear expression of information. On the other hand, the least successful part is the arrangement of still images. They didn’t fit in the video as well as I wanted to and I would like to improve this in my later assessments.
