In class today we had to read 2 other blogs from within the class.

Neeve wrote a blog post about the symposium and I found that she reacted similarly to me. In particular when talking about the validity of information on the internet. Its pretty sad how so many of us react to news relating to death or tragedy online by immediately taking it as a potential hoax. Sad, but necessary. Its so easy to fake information on the internet (especially social media) and pass it as valid.

I remember in year 7 everyone thought Raven (from Thats So Raven) had died because someone had seen it on myspace. Everyone was devastated, but after a few hours embarrassed to find out if wasn’t true.

Felicia made a post “HTML aka the devil” which is completely relevant because I really don’t have any idea how to use it. As Felicia mentions, its a bit scary how we post to social media without any second thought, BUT we don’t have a single clue about the processes of doing so. I wonder if outside this course I’ll ever worry about HTML again. Right now I’m thinking probably not, but then again I never thought I would use it after my myspace days, and here we are.
