Let’s rewind!

The other day we received some feedback on our pitches, and I thought that I would take this time to discuss the pitch.

Our feedback was quite good, yet very constructive. One point raised is the fact that using a colour palette that surrounds pink may be risky as it feeds into gender stereotypes.

Of course, pink is for girls… so duh, the tampon documentary has to be pink! I’m very aware of this issue, although I was hoping to use the girly colours as a juxtaposition technique to saturate the audience with these ‘typical’ colours associated with female. In doing this, I would hope that the audience would question the reality and ridiculousness of such a colour being specific to a certain ‘sex.’ It is rather a reflection of a gender… but once again, why?
