This week, we have been insanely busy sending out emails and begging for attention from politicians and not-for-profit organisations.

Week 6 was a week of organisation. I, personally, didn’t realise the extent of organisation that surrounded creating a documentary. It seems easy to decide on a topic, start to film, and finish with an edit. However, the reality is that emails, contact, phone calls, explanations, and pitch documents all need to be compiled to ensure we have participants in our documentary. It’s also important to ensure that the participants fully understand what they are committing to, in an attempt to save wasted time.

This week we got together and emailed some politicians – Labor, Liberal, and The Greens. And, of course The Greens were the only political figures who were willing to assist in our student project. This may be because they are avid about removing the tampon tax and ensuring that sanitary items are accessible for all women. And, they are definitely proud about this… I mean, so they should be!

We also locked in an interview with Rochelle Courtenay, Founder of Share the Dignity. The national organisation will definitely add some insight and first-hand experience into the topic. We’ve written some interview questions… and, we can’t wait to continue!
