I’ve spent all afternoon cutting out “ums” and “uhhh’s” from my interview and I need a break!  All the content I’m going through seems to really fit what I’m trying to achieve through my project.  The audio is inspiring and ambitious and I look forward to combining the audio and the visual.  There has been an advantage to me using my partner as my interview subject– I know him very well and I know what I’m trying to convey to the audience about him.  I can tell him what to say and we have a level of comfort… HOWEVER, being so comfortable with some one often takes away a seriousness from the interview.  I have found that Cormack (my interviewee) played around when I was trying to get my audio recorded and it took him some time to finally get it through his head that this is an important assessment! This definitely wasn’t him trying to make it hard for me on purpose or anything like that, but his lack of focus was distracting.  Also, we filmed in our home so it was where we are both comfortable and the professional element seemed to go out the window.

So. here’s a little insight into what I had to deal with throughout our day of recording.  Luckily we are comfortable with each other so I could tell him to “shut up and focus.”

Oh… Sugar porn?  He means “Sugar Prawn”… like the restaurant.
