Today started with my alarm ringing at the crack of dawn…okay, it was 6am but it felt like dawn.  My first early morning lecture: Pop culture in everyday life.  Sleepily shuffling onto the tram, luckily scoring a seat and riding the waves of bumps in the road all the way to building 80, Swanston Street.  Thankfully most of the other students had intense bed hair and sleepy eyes as well.  I’m totally proud of braiding my hair the previous night so I didn’t have to try and brush the tangle of my metre long locks at 6am.

I’m really looking forward to studying pop culture in everyday life.  I find it interesting to answer those questions that we have been discussing, such as: What is culture?  What do we define as popular?  What is popular culture?  I want to see what makes the world tick.  What motivates people in terms of media.  Regardless of the early mornings, I’m ready to take on this course.

… Yes, I did go straight home after the lecture at 9:30am and went back to bed.
