WEEK TEN

This is was perhaps our more important week as we finally got to meet our models and meet the green screen studio! We told each model to come at 30 minute intervals so they were not waiting around for too long but got to see a little bit of the model before them.

We started with Elle but we should have allowed ourself more time to set up as we had to use much of our allocated time with her working out the studio lights and our camera set ups. We had a few issues with the lights throughout the shoot as one of the lights was faulty and flickering. We learnt that lighting would be paramount from previous keying we had done with stock footage as a trial. Some of the footage we downloaded had a slight green hue on the subject as the lights had obviously reflected off the walls behind. This made it difficult in Premiere Pro to colour key the footage so lighting was something I was very conscious of. However, having never used these studios before, I think that we did struggle to operate the complicated lighting board. We got some advice from the tech guys which did help, but I think prior practise of working in this space would have made for a more successful shoot.

We began the editing process a little and began to prepare our Premiere project. From past experience, I have learnt to always keep a tidy workspace in Premiere so we spent a little while creating bins and sequences to allow us to operate efficiently. I think this is important as we will all be editing the piece so clarity across the project will allow us to see what each of us has accomplished and allow us to work across platforms.
