EDIT-ED

Here is the final edited version of the shoot we did with Ted and Hamish.

I think there is a lot we can look at in terms of reflection of this (much of which I have already done in previous blog posts). Though I think there is some comments to be made about the editing process itself.

Organisation in the editing suits is something invaluable I have learnt this semester. I have never really been a tidy person, but some small changes have made a vast difference to process in which I work. Mainly I can credit this to the administration of media assets within premiere (creating multiple bins to assist in doing so) and the formation of multiple sequences that each serve an individual purpose. I would have previously thrown all my clips into premiere and viewed them off the individual preview frame before dragging them into a single final sequence. Then after working, I would usually have to do multiple exports after finding untidy edges to something I thought was complete. I have found that by applying these few basis rules and implementing them before I start editing, I can save myself a lot in stress and time. Taking a few minutes to set out the tools I will then need, the relevant sequences and bins is much as preparing a workspace before beginning to work. After using these organisation references just a few times, my work has reflected a change. Hopefully this is a process that I am able to continuously refine and improve upon.
