Lesson one, week one and we are straight into it.

FIRST PROJECT

The one thing that stood out to me the most, was literally that bikes stood out. Like in this weeks reading, I was suddenly engulfed into the world of noticing. Of course I have always know cycling is popular in inner-city and surrounding Melbourne, but I had never really stopped to notice it. So that is what we did.

We began by taking many similar photos of the first parked bike we found. This resulted in nothing extraordinary – just different angles and framing of the same product and meaning. So on we walked eagerly into the city. We kind of bombarded the first few bikes we saw like paparazzi, but we soon noticed that our subject was everywhere. They have their own stands, they have their own lanes, they even have their own traffic lights!
