COLLABORATION

This week we spoke of collaboration ahead of Project Brief Four, our final task in which we will work in groups. Teamwork is significant, recent surveys show that the majority of employers rank it amongst the highest qualities potential employees should possess. I am yet to have a group assignment in university but I am told they are usually very different from high school. I don’t really recall ever having a bad experience in working in a team, but perhaps this is because usually I am quite friendly with the people I am working with. Of course, here, as in the work place, it is very different. Media is an expansive industry and many jobs are outsourced beyond a singular company. So teamwork is a skill I definitely need to develop further and I work towards the end of my degree. I could, and most likely will, see myself working with strangers in the future. Of course developing a relationship is an important part of understanding each other but just say in projects with limited time frame it may be difficult to do so immediately. It’s important that I learn how to work with others, how to have my voice heard whilst still listening to all the voices around me.
