Theory vs. Practical
I agree with Memphis. I found this week’s reading quite difficult and complex to navigate through.
Throughout this semester’s course I have been lost; floating aimlessly week to week as I struggle to grasp the concepts presented. However, after the break I have felt rejuvenated and have decided to try and explore more pathways discussed within Networked Media, to allow myself the opportunity for exponential growth.
This I believe is relevant to an early point made in Murphie, Andrew, and John Potts reading ‘Culture & Technology’ , which states that the ideas and relationship between culture and technology , heavily scrutinised and explored through academics. However, I speculate whether this theoretical method of discussing provides a more beneficial or clearer understanding than the physical manifestation of technological use, in which we undertake day to day.
