Troy’s game – Urban Codemakers – inspired us to think about our story as a more interactive narrative. In his game, players choose a guild to belong to. Our story is presented via a wiki page that is supposed to be the secure database of a top secret organisation. The audience accesses the story via this page as though they’re reading the highly-secure documents published on the database.
It makes sense that only employees of the organisation can access this database. Therefore, someone reading (for lack of a better word) the story is an employee of the organisation. The guild design of Troy’s game got my group wondering if we can set up a similar approach. It would be great if, in order for people to access the website, they have to log on as an employee belonging to one of the ‘divisions’ of the organisation (each division has a different role in the running of the organisation.)
While it’s great in theory, we need to work out if this is actually possible to achieve. However that aspect of Troy’s presentations, and Urban Codemakers, resonated particularly strongly with our group.
