The “shoot to edit” process in production, is imperative in providing the filmmaker/s ultimate control during the editing process. Pre-production may dictate which shots are in order, but this way of thinking is not only quicker when filming sequences that may share similar shots and angles, but caters the producers with more surrogative choices upon post-production. Not only are long takes suddenly in the equation, they are also granted with rushes that may include better action, dialogue, etc. depending on the creator/s’ final decisions.
