Within this weeks Lectorial we began to look at core concepts central to the media practice, starting the series of lectures with a focus on Texts. I found this lecture really insightful and well delivered due to it helping me clarify more the topic which I have been given for project brief 4.
It builds upon ideas which I studied in year 12 media and further clarified murky grey areas such as Semiotics.

A point which I found extremely helpful was the quote clarifying the definition of the term text by Alan Mckee; “Texts are the material trace that are left of the practice of sense making the only empirical evidence we have of how other people make sense of the world.”

An important point to make note of when analysing media texts and one which I am posting within this entry as I feel as though it will be pivotal to further study of text to which is needed for Project 4
