Me and Gabriel were assigned the job of title sequence for the screening/exhibition presentation. The objective was to create a sequence which displayed the studio name, teacher and names of the class. I was in charge of filming the shots as they were going to be similar to my project titles sequences, birds eye shot using objects to display text. Gabriel was then going to create music to be played with the titles. We decided to display classmates named through using small cubes with letters on them. The studio name and teacher name I was going to decide when I was filming my other sequences. The studio name was displayed using magazine cutouts, whilst Paul’s name was written in cubes first, then changed to chocolate letters, due to the fact we wanted some contrasted between the teacher and student. We also decided to split the screen into 4 so we could display 4 students name as once. Each shot would be filmed on 4 different coloured carpets to create contrast. Shooting the sequence was quite fun, although I did find myself facing some difficulties. When I opened the box of cubed letters I fished through to make sure we had enough letters. Well. Unfortunately there was only one ‘S’, and zero ‘p’s. This proved to be very annoying as multiples students name had either more than 1 S or at least one P. To overcome this I had to film the S cube in different places and then crop the S and overlay it on top of the blank space where the S should be. As for the P, I made a makeshift P by using a black pen to write over and F.
Also annoyingly, the light I was using in my cubed letters shot blew out just before I had finished. This led to some grainy/dark footage which I tried to clean up in premiere the best I could. It is noticeable when you compare the unlit names to the lit names, but not its definitely still usable. I tried using a torch but it was the right kind of light, too white.
