It’s all over but the crying
And nobody’s crying but me

Week 12 stress-near-crying is fine, isn’t it?

Really though; the week 12 workshop was a pretty sweet relief from all the craziness of assignment due dates and the like.

Other than watching my classmates gorge on delicious goodies (damn you stomach and your intolerance for gluten!), the week 12 workshop was about reviewing rough cuts for our video essays. While several sections of the essay were missing; Brian didn’t really touch on these, instead focusing on what we did have. His three main points were

(1) Some of our piece-to-cameras were out of sync.
(2) Fixing the white balance of our piece-to-cameras.
(3) Explore the addition of some sort of interesting effect to our piece-to-cameras to jazz them up.

The fourth point was to add some sort of visual reference, which we had already planned on doing for a while; but just hadn’t gotten around to.

With those three points in mind, just as it was with the audio feedback, we went back to Premiere to fix up our video essay before the final deadline.

Another task this week was the reflection on our learning process throughout the semester. This is how I rated my abilities.

I can’t lie – that first PB mark definitely was a hit to my morale, but after that I tried really hard to get things back on track, until the wave of assessments kinda made me lax on blogging. Nonetheless, I look at this graph and figure that I haven’t made a disappointing start to my degree. There is room for improvement, always, but there is a lot to be proud of too.
