SHOOT 2.0

SHOOT 2.0

Possibly the most exhausting day of my whole life…

Not that that’s a bad thing! the shoot went smoothly, with lot’s of hands on deck, everyone was willing to help out! We ended up having more cameras on set than intended (7 or 8 from memory) which was better than the 2 or 1 I thought we’d end up with.

Getting to the shoot was probably the most tiring part of the day; between 3 buses and 1 uber, I managed to make my way across town to the Eastern suburbs where the pool party shoot was happening. Although I was running an hour late, as PTV is obviously the most reliable modern day transport in the entire world, I managed to get there, and that’s what counts.  To my surprise, no one had even finished their hair and makeup yet, so I guess it didn’t matter too much that I was late.

Once the shoot started it didn’t stop. We had a few of Olivia’s friends helping out with close-ups and such and got a few great ideas on set about how we could simplify the storyline slightly so that audiences could follow it more easily. One of these ideas included our lead male to get caught with the pearls he stole, at the pool party; which then lead to the idea of the policeman jumping on him while he was floating on his flamingo.

Working with the large cast and meeting some of the rest of the band was great! Being able to film the jump scene was also especially funny; and although I came home with a pounding migraine due to the heat and the fact I was probably dehydrated, I think the footage we gathered was of good quality and we were able to get many different shots, including some underwater ones too!
