Finally, PB4 is coming to an end and this project taught me so many things. It also makes me made new friends! It began when Jeremy randomly divided us by number, and I got into the same group with Joey and Breanna because our number is 2 or 3, I forgot. I was nervous because I’m completely in a new situation, although I already knew them and talked to them, still. The project is also completely different from what I’ve done before and I never did anything using audio.

At first, I was afraid that the group would end up with many group dramas, but they are nice and fun! I’m glad to get into the same group with them! We always tried to ask and give an opinion, and of course, listen to the opinion as well. Somehow, we alway managed to combine the ideas we had and give each other critique. We talked about what we want for this project and decided pretty quick. We came up with this idea that we don’t want to make the audience feel bored and we want to make it interesting and funny.

But the thing about my group is, we got distracted so easily. When we were having our meeting it was so easy for use to bring other unrelated topics to our discussion, but we overcome it in the end and our meeting became more and more productive. I lost count on how many meeting we did, but as I remember we always had meeting on Tuesday and Friday. Those two days are like our regular time for the meeting. There was a time when it just me and Joey waiting for Breanna but we end up talking and only done a little bit of work.

We chose to compare social media famous from Australia and China for our project’s topic and I feel like my struggle was doing the research and the annotated bibliography. While doing the research I found out that social media famous is related with narcissism and because I’ve studied psychology before, I’m thinking to bring that up to this project but I’m not really sure as well if I could bring that topic and relates it to attention. I have so many things that I haven’t learn, for instance, the annotated bibliography.

We divided our jobs to make it easier, this is Breanna idea. I admit that we relied on her too much and we might put to much pressure on her. So, my job was doing the news section, I have to make the script for the fake news and edit it by myself. Honestly, I’m not feeling that confident on editing the audio but I know that I have to do it, so I tried to do the best that I could and Breanna also told me and Joey on how to edit the audio. It was very helpful and I started to enjoy editing audio, it was fun looking for the sound effects and also tiring to listen to the same voices over and over again.

Because this is a group project and sometimes people have their personal opinion about their group project or personal feelings on it. I do have it too, but I chose to ignore it and do what I have and told me to do. Honestly, I feel kind of useless sometimes at some certain point. Like, because our topic is focusing on China and Australia social media, and my group started to divided what research each should do I was confused and I’m not really sure If I can help a lot in it. But I chose to ignore my feelings and tried to be useful, I hope I am. Although we don’t have those drama-conflict things that usually happens, I think we are not really honest about what we think when we were doing the project and I think that thing is important.

I learn that communication is not only about the work we do but also about how we feel as a human being, and it’s better to talk about it as well to our group. Because I think it’s important for us to enjoy what we do, and it also includes our feelings, since our work performance it’s better if we feel comfortable with our surroundings. However, I’m quite satisfied with who I end up with because I really enjoy talking to them and they help me when I’m lost. I thank Joey on how optimised he is on doing this project, even after the feedback and we were down because of that. Also, for Breanna who taught me and Joey many things. Maybe I’m the only one who feel this way, but I think we always managed to find solutions to our problems, which is good!
