In this week lectorial, we had a guest, Louise Turley, she talked about The Art od Interview and mentioned the 5w, Who, What, Where, When, Why. She explained us about the 5w and mentioned some points we have to remember in interviewing someone.
- Who: The first who is about considering who the interviewee is, we have to think whether the person is confident in front of the camera and is the person understands the topic. Besides that, we also have to think about our audience.
- What: There are three kinds of questions in an interview.
- Close-ended: avoid the close-ended question, a question with obvious (yes or no) answer.
- Open-ended: Question with more interesting answers
- Leading questions: More balance questions, no bias words and sentences.
- Where: Its better to choose the interviewee’s natural surroundings and when doing the interview it’s better to think about these points:
- Light
- Sound
- Background
- When: Brief the subject, maintain the eye contact, listen, be flexible, respect, focused and be quiet.
- Why: Do some self-reflection about the interview
