Vieillissment

Callum discusses his disappointment with the governments decision to push community television broadcasts online at the end of 2015, expressing that the government is catering to commercial interests while ignoring the needs of the community, which i heavily agree with, aren’t we, the community, the reason online broadcasts existed in the first place? Why aren’t our interests at the top of their priorities? Elly discusses the recent social media trend to do with the ‘ALS Ice Bucket Challenge’ and how she can’t help but feel that many of these internet campaigns are so successful because they appeal to peoples vanity, and their desire to gain attention on social media forums. In order for these campaigns to work, Elly says that they need a more specific goal that will allow audiences to actually make a difference. Finally, George shares his utter confusion with the reading by David Shields, providing this quote; “I wanted my first novel to be a veritable infarct of narrative cioggers — the trick being to feel your way through each clog by blowing it up until its obstructiveness finally reveals not blank mass but unlooked-for seepage points of passage.” which strains my eyes and brain to read and consume, so don’t worry, it doesn’t make any sense to me either.
