Adrian Miles (from one of his most previous blog posts)– ‘The test is exactly as the page above describes, which you’ve been able to rehearse and practice with for several weeks. (Anecdotally students who are anxious practice and practice and do it on the day in a snap. A small group think they know what they’re doing and leave it for the day, they are the ones still making mistakes an hour into the class. In six years, on every occasion, they have been male, what’s that about?)’
I can’t tell you why they have been male, but i can tell you that todays tute consisting of this ‘test’ was very stressful and finicky. I had come in prepared and revised (well kind of) and encountered a problem where my index.html page was linking to the wrong two.html page. It turned out that my pages were all ok i was jut clicking on the wrong file (so i almost wasted my nearly tears on nothing). Anyway, i just wanted to reflect and summarize what i have learnt from this experience, besides being to calm down, i am pleased to know the basics of html coding and to gain a bit of insight to what Zuckerburg and all of the other html geniuses do. It’s harder than it appears but teaches you to pay more attention to detail and to take things slowly to ensure no time is wasted. I couldn’t help but contain a small amount of excitement when seeing the final result, how does html coding translate into a webpage? If i found that basic webpage difficult i would be so intrigued to see sites like Facebook and its original source…. hmm i might have found my next blog post…..
