‘As we may think’.

// ‘As we may think’ //

This reading from week 4 hit me with various thoughts and opinions within the reading of the first few sentences. First of all, why do we feel the need to constantly expand society’s knowledge? I feel as though one day we are all going to become too knowledgeable for our own good and start to loose the true qualities and characteristics that accompanies human beings. Recently, I saw the film ‘Lucy’ about a woman who takes a drug that allows her access to 100% of her brain. She looses touch with humanity and is far too powerful for her own good, i know this is a fiction film (obviously) but it involves scientists who share the same aspirations as scientists in this reading, that is to ‘turn to the massive task of making more accessible our bewildering store of knowledge’ (Dr. Vannevar Bush). Scientists and humanity seem to be searching for perfection, but to be honest, if we were all perfect, could it be possible that we would all end up the same? This is very debatable and is only me thinking aloud in the spur of the moment, but it is interesting to think that where we are now, could be a lot different to where we are in the future, maybe we might all become too perfect and too knowledgeable for our own good that a world war breaks loose and humanity seizes to exist.

Again, only me thinking aloud.
