You know when you think something is going to be ok, but it happens and you react in a way that you never saw coming? Well that is me in this moment, that very something just happened and I have never felt so confused and lost. My best friend left yesterday to endure a new life in the land of Londoners and her return is indefinite. Joni Mitchell really was right, ‘you don’t know what you got till its gone’ because really, friendship and connections with those around us are important to maintain, to make us feel in touch with humanity and the person that a particular other influences you to be.
I have encouraged this friend to get a blog (from being so amazed by how beneficial having a blog can be), telling her what a blog post is, it can simply be anything and that is the pure joy of it.
The next few months (maybe even years) are going to consist of me heavily relying on social media to keep in touch with her and up to date on each others lives. It is at times like these that i can say, thank you social media you are actually becoming useful for me as i am taking on a new stage of life.
