Why do we, as human beings, constantly feel the need to share with fellow human beings what we are currently up to? Even i am guilty of doing so.
For example, the other day i visited the beautiful Dandenong Ranges with a friend, and pretty much everywhere we stopped, i had my iPhone camera out, trying to grasp the best possible angle to exaggerate ‘how much of a fun time i was having’ and ‘how cool am i that i’m here and you’re not’ to my followers on Instagram and friends on Facebook.
If you have a scroll through your Instagram newsfeed right now, there will be a photo of someone’s ‘amazing’ lunch or a photo of someones brand new clothes, spread across their bed, or for me, a photo of someones ‘freshly squeezed juice omg’ in Byron Bay.
Do we do it to prove that we are living our lives doing ‘cool’ things? Or to make others jealous?
Is it a competition?
I’m not sure but i would be very interested to ask people why they feel the need to share every thing they do that involves leaving the house (sometimes they don’t even wait for even that).
I’m as much involved as other people so i will tell you my answer, i do it because i feel as though it would be a waste of time or a wasted memory if i didn’t. I do it because i want to be able to look back and for others to look back and grasp a slight sense of who i am and what i like to do day-to-day.
By the way, just bought a T2 Iced Tea to try, it’s ok, slightly bitter, probably wasn’t worth $4.00.
