After discussing privacy and exposure in the lab, and Betty’s lingering words about whatever you put up, will never come down (oohhhh), i typed my name into google only to find pages linked to myself i didn’t even know about.
I even found an old film i made in year 12 that was published on a competition website.
Is it intrusive?
I did feel kind of nervous at the sight of photos linked from websites appearing on Google images and other websites disclosing information, however, this is where technology has advanced to, and new forms of communication, how to get in touch with someone at the click of a button or as we know, a search of their name. In some form, it is like a time capsule, forever accessible to relive special moments (or for some, embarrassing) as they grow older. We just all need to remember to think twice before uploading an image (which may seem funny at the time) as once it is up, we actually have no control as to where it may end up.
