The Final Countdown. Honestly, from start to finish, this project has been a whirlwind of upsets. Three of our initial ideas for our documentary had to be scrapped due to contacts not replying to us, contacts pulling out last minute or, as we so painfully discovered, our planned documentary had already been made into a feature-length film. Eventually landing on creating a unique aesthetic through a Skype call (not necessarily because we ‘wanted to’ but because we had no real choice at this point), we set out to make our cult-based documentary. Even throughout the creative process, we had multiple technical issues; the Skype call cutting out, and two Skype calls being such terrible audio quality that they eventually had to land on the editing floor. Although, despite these difficulties, we all persevered and eventually created, what I personally believe to be a quality short film about Claire’s story. This past week has been testing with the due date looming over all of our heads, but the journey overall is one that was beneficial and overall satisfying in its final outcome.
