On Tuesday, we had the group consultation with Paul, it was good to hear that he thinks even the simplest ideas can be the most effective/interesting. I was struggling with committing to my stop-motion animation idea because I felt like I was taking this course to do more live-action exercises. Post-consultation I felt that Paul had validated my idea. I have a plan to test out the medium (oil paint) this weekend to make sure it’ll work effectively. If it doesn’t I may choose a different medium to work with or completely change up my idea.
At the moment I’m trying to decide what the story of the film could be or if I want it to be more abstract as I only have a limited time frame and the method is time consuming. The entire film may have to be redone numerous times if a mistake is made with the oil paint or if it dries. I’m drawing up some storyboards this weekend and a plan for shooting the film.
