So basically we had a run down on what to expect from the studios next semester and the way in which we get into a studio. I really hope that I get a good studio out of my choice of three, because we can’t change once we’ve been put in one. You best believe that I’m gonna transfer from this course if I don’t feel like I’m learning what I need to, I want more practical skills because, while learning theory and concepts is important, I’ve already done that and I’m not interested in spending the next two and a half years not feeling engaged in my course. Honestly that’s how I’ve felt this entire semester and it shows in my work for media one, I have never gotten such low marks in any other assessments I’ve handed in whether that be for high school my TAFE course or my other uni subjects where I’m getting distinctions and high distinctions. It isn’t even that I don’t enjoy the readings, it’s that I can’t even bring myself to understand them academically, which makes writing a blog post about them, excruciating which is why I haven’t done much of that.
Then we come to the learning graph…which I am honestly so confused about. It feels like something we would do in high school in year 10. I’m a twenty year old woman, I don’t need to graph something to understand how I went in a semester, I chose a creative subject so I wouldn’t have to do things like make graphs.
I’m going to give next semester a shot but if the course doesn’t pick up a bit I’ll probably try to get into VCA or some other course.
Note to self, don’t blog while feeling sassy, good things will not come of it. Forgive me lecturers, but I’m feelin’ a little overwhelmed at present with all the group work I’ve got going on. But…I could also blame that on you guys as well (joking……..kinda).
Totally with you on hoping my studio isn’t awful!
