This week I’ll share a slightly longer video than usual – a 19 minute documentary focusing on the busking musicians of the New York subway system. The film provides some interesting insight into the life of a street (subway) performer and contains a mixture of well shot, and compelling segments. The film blends its interview segments with long shots of the musical performances of the 5 interviewees – this gives some segments less of a documentary feel – perhaps leaning towards creating more of a music-video feel. I have had my own ideas about making a documentary film about street performers in the past and involving their craft in the final product would be a key focus of mine if I were to pursue these ideas.
