The Edit #2

After stressing out about falling behind, keeping organized and most of all, following the readings, it’s good to remind myself why I chose to do this course in the first place; the film making. I spent the whole day with my friends filming different bits and pieces for my video, and now I’ve acquired all of my footage needed to put it all together. I’ve already got a bunch of disconnected scenes all over the place in the Premiere file, but I have a vision of how it’s all going to turn out. Let’s hope I stick to it.

Editing videos has always been one of the most interesting parts of film making to me (besides actually directing). There’s just something about finishing an edit that soothes that uncomfortable OCD-like feeling that you get. But there is also that chance that you will encounter a piece of footage that doesn’t really work either because whoever filmed it has hands shakier than a frog, or there is just literally no place for it to sit. I’ve already found that one of the shots that I spent ages trying to get right, (and was the cause for me getting sick), ended up not even being needed.

Now, as I sit here thinking about the creative direction I plan to take for my video, I wonder what the easiest way to get my word count for this blog post up would be. But anyway, I guess I should get probably back to editing.
